Icelite for the graphic works of Joan Mirò

Mirografie is a graphic exhibition dedicated to the graphic works of the Catalan master Joan Miró: for the first time in Milan, 70 works from an important private collection are on display to the general public at the prestigious Hospitale dei pellegrini SS. Pietro e Paolo.
The collector has entrusted the curation of the exhibit to a group of 12 students from the Collegio di Milano, known as Gruppo Iride, all of whom hold the same level of study, academic background and professional goals: this is one of the exhibition’s peculiarities.
The students were given the ambitious task of setting up and handling every aspect of a veritable art exhibit, including the design of the exhibit itself, as well as the catalogue and the communications plan, all within the scope of a training project that has been included amongst the cultural activities offered to the students at the Collegio di Milano.
Focusing upon the graphic works of the master Joan Miró, the monograph, which was published to mark the occasion of the exhibition itself, has been printed entirely on ICELITE, which was selected by the project’s artistic direction as the ideal medium.
This decision was mainly motivated by the product’s exceptional whiteness, natural surface and smooth finish, which entirely satisfied the need for a medium that would give the idea of purity and cleanliness, without neglecting the colour rendering of the print.
The exhibition is open to the public from January 20th to February 5th 2012.

It is to these “speckles of light” and to a thousand nuances of snow that Gruppo Cordenons is dedicating the last part of its campaign “The Seasons Collection”, in which a special paper is matched to each season of the year.

In the magnificent setting of Villa Key Largo in Monte Carlo, the two hundred participants at Gruppo Cordenons’ VIP Party, which was held for the Luxe Pack 2011, enjoyed a firsthand experience of Ciré, the latest arrival among the Cordenons papers. Because of its sleek touch and special “waxed” effect, inspired by the capes worn by sailors during storms, Ciré was especially created for all luxury packaging applications. Available in 5 colours (Blanc, Rouge, Noir, Orange, Chocolat) and 3 grammages (125, 170, 330 g/m2), the strong connection this paper has with fashion, is visible in the smooth version (velouté) and in the play of stripes and diamond shapes of the three embossed patterns (vinyle, sofa, losange), that seem to be winking at the 60s & 70s.

During the Luxe Pack of Monte Carlo, a lot of new solutions for shopping bags were presented…
Some made on our paper, some not… Some with hot foil print, some other not… Some with crazy shapes, some others with more traditional shapes… Just few had the features that makes it new!
One of this new Shopping bag is branded with a small hang-tag and a ribbon with a golden relief hot-foil printing on it. It is made all on Plike Brown.
The new special feature however is a zipper on the back of the bag. The Zipper opens a fabric pocket that is attached to the inside of the bag, resulting invisible from the outside!

The paper factory celebrates its search engine with over 1500 products

The Cordenons Group gets a new face through the web. The Italian paper factory, represented in 97 countries worldwide, celebrated on July 11th the birth of its new website that gathers more than 1500 products searchable on-line. Over a hundred guests gathered at the “web-party”, the themed evening event taking place on the evocative terrace at the headquarters in via Machiavelli, Milan. Guests from the design scene and from graphics agencies watched in real time the screening preview dedicated to the new search engine that enables companies in the field and final users to identify the product best suited to their needs in the wide landscape of graphic cards. The website, realised on WordPress platform, devotes a special section also to filtration paper and impregnation paper with accurate images that highlight each product’s features. Users, furthermore, will be able to look up a blog about news, events, endeavours by the Cordenons Group linked to the fashion world and graphic arts. The new portal’s objective is to match those values that were consolidated during the Group’s long history, such as the commitment to the environment, with greater interaction with customers. From this perspective, the Cordenons Group is now also present on social networks Facebook and Twitter to release in cross-section and widespread manner the products coming in.

EMBOSSING 2011 Sample Book

The Cordenons sample books collection is enriched by the newest EMBOSSINGS 2011 sample book.
Divided in two sections, cylinders available by stock and by demand, the sample book shows a wide choice of available embossing that spans from geometrical designs to original textures all the way to patterns reminding of textile wefts.
An easy reference chart enables the creative customer to choose what type of embossing can be used over a given weight (Light or Heavy) and which one is suitable for either mono or double embossing.
The new catalogue recalls the paper factory’s existing 9 sample books design, typified by the different colours distinguishing the families of Cordenons special cards; the only difference is in the special format that allows the user to compare several types of embossing at the same time.

New digital certified Hp Indigo range for Cordenons Group

The Cordenons Group enriches its cards portfolio with the new range dedicated to Digital. The range was also given recently the certification for printing with Hp Indigo technology. The new Digital for Indigo range includes ICELASER Indigo, in 7 weights from 90 to 325 gr and Modigliani in weights 120, 200 and 260; ICELASER Indigo has a velvety surface, an extraordinary quality of white, absence of double face, excellent strength and stiffness, good firmness to light and good superficial sizing; whilst MODIGLIANI Indigo, available in weights of 120, 200 and 260 gr, is paper felt marked on both sides with excellent strength, bulk and stiffness, good resistance to folding and to creasing, good firmness to light and high superficial sizing.

Both papers are available in format 32×46 / 46×32 and are FSC® Certified.

Cordenons Group renews its appointment with Montecarlo

The Vip Party of Thursday 21st October in Montecarlo ended in style a year rich of events for the Cordenons Group: New York in March, Milan end July and Shanghai in September.

Exceptional location this year was once again the refined villa Key off the Cap d’Ail; the mild climate allowed the many guests (among more than 160 guests, designers, Italian and foreign journalists and important figures of the graphic arts world) to enjoy an evening on the seashore in the spirit of the hospitality and elegance that highlight all Cordenons house events.

In order to facilitate arrivals at the Villa this year the Cordenons Group provided their guests with four shuttles going to and fro the Grimaldi Forum, the Casinò of Montecarlo and the location, where the guests could entertain themselves at the gaming tables provided for them.

In the course of the evening Cordenons Group presented its latest arrivals: the range PLIKE enriched by five new fashionable colours (PINK, PASTEL BLUE, PURPLE, ORANGE and ROYAL BLUE) supported by rich promotional material linked to the newly started campaign I LIKE PLIKE and the renewed samples book COLOUR, with MALMERO (new colours), MALMERO PERLè, MALMERO EB (new embossing) and NOTTURNO (new weight). Obviously there had to be MOONDREAM, the innovative Cordenons paper which thanks to simple hot printing – without foil – becomes transparent.

At the end of the Party guests were presented with a Shopping Box realised with MALMERO Noir embossed Antelope with inside a copy of the catalogue COLOUR realised in limited circulation especially for the event, a nice gadget to remember the evening and a small taster for a further new arrival which will be officially presented soon.
